I want to say I remember the fights between Max and Lewis, but I’ve only heard of them. I’d like to say I was there for the times they both fought so hard that neither finished but I wasn’t.
As I look back, I can’t help but look forward. My eyes are drawn to Charles and George, wondering: will there ever be an epic rivalry in the sport again? Today, it seems to be more about the 50/50 split, points, and liveries. Admittedly, even I’m guilty of it. I missed it the first time, the second time, and the third.
“Pure racing” we yearn for it, don’t we? As we watch from home, the stands, or the F1 live scoreboard, we all still wait for the press releases of Max and Lewis going head-to-head. The era has changed, but it’s still the same.
So, where has the thrill gone? The rush that pulls you out of your seat, off your couch, and makes you scream, “YEAAAAAA!”? Boy…………….. I sure do miss Formula 1.
