BRABUS and AB Yachts Look to the Future With a 47-Metre Flagship
A new chapter in high-performance yachting is taking shape as BRABUS and Italian shipbuilder AB Yachts expand their partnership with plans for a 47-metre flagship. The project sits at the top of a new BRABUS AB yacht family, bringing the German performance brand’s automotive design language into increasingly larger territory at sea.
The collaboration made its public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, where the first production yacht from the partnership, the 33.7-metre BRABUS AB110, was unveiled. But the AB110 is only the beginning. The planned BRABUS AB150, measuring approximately 45 metres, is scheduled for its world premiere at Monaco in 2027, marking BRABUS’s 50th anniversary.
From Supercars to Superyachts
BRABUS is perhaps best known for transforming high-performance Mercedes-Benz models into aggressive, highly individual machines. Its move deeper into yachting follows existing marine collaborations with AXOPAR and Sunreef, but the AB Yachts partnership takes the concept in a distinctly performance-oriented direction.
AB Yachts, part of Next Yacht Group, has built its reputation around fast yachts and waterjet propulsion. The partnership therefore brings together two companies whose identities are heavily tied to performance, with BRABUS responsible for its distinctive design philosophy and AB Yachts contributing its experience in yacht engineering and construction.
The result is intended to be more than a yacht carrying a famous automotive badge. The companies describe the project as a co-developed product, combining BRABUS’s design and customization approach with AB Yachts’ technical expertise.
The 47-Metre Question
The larger yacht represents where the partnership is heading next.
While the currently announced BRABUS range consists of the BRABUS AB95, AB110 and AB150, the larger flagship project is significant because it moves the collaboration beyond the relatively compact high-performance yacht category and toward a much larger superyacht platform.
The AB150 is currently listed by AB Yachts as under construction, with its unveiling scheduled for the 2027 Monaco Yacht Show.
For BRABUS, that progression is important. The brand is effectively taking the visual language that has become familiar on its road cars and applying it to a yacht several times their size.
The AB110 Sets the Formula
The first yacht gives us a clear indication of what to expect from the larger members of the family.
The BRABUS AB110 measures 33.70 metres and has a beam of 6.80 metres. It can be equipped with three MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each producing 2,600 hp. Combined output reaches 7,800 hp, with waterjet propulsion helping the yacht reach a claimed maximum speed of 48 knots.
That is serious performance for a yacht of this size.
The exterior incorporates exposed carbon-fibre elements, a BRABUS roof spoiler, integrated LED lighting and the brand’s familiar red accents. Even the upholstery carries BRABUS’s distinctive triangular quilting, creating a visual connection between the yacht and the company’s automotive Masterpiece creations.
Inside, the AB110 follows the same philosophy. The main deck combines large social areas with BRABUS Masterpiece materials and finishes, while the lower deck provides an owner’s suite, VIP accommodation and additional guest cabins for up to ten people.
Built Around the Water
Performance isn’t the only focus.
The AB110’s aft garage is designed to carry a jet tender, a three-seat jet ski and additional water toys. Once the equipment is deployed, the stern can be transformed into a sea-level beach area and lounge.
That combination of speed and usable outdoor space is central to the AB Yachts philosophy. Its existing AB130 flagship, for example, uses three MTU 16V2000 M96L engines and waterjets while incorporating a configurable stern beach area.
The larger BRABUS projects therefore have a strong technical foundation to build upon.
A New Direction for BRABUS Marine
The partnership represents an interesting evolution for BRABUS.
The company is no longer simply adding its name and styling to boats. With the AB Yachts range, it is developing an identifiable family of high-performance yachts that extends from the 95-foot class through the 110-foot yacht and toward the much larger flagship.
The next major step will be the BRABUS AB150, scheduled for Monaco in 2027. That yacht will also arrive during BRABUS’s 50th-anniversary year, giving the company an appropriately large stage on which to present the next chapter of its marine ambitions.
For a brand built around the idea of creating an immediate visual impact, the message is becoming clear: BRABUS isn’t simply putting its design language on the water—it is building an entirely new performance-yacht identity around it.
