Now, she is preparing for a new chapter.
According to YachtCharterFleet, BLACK PEARL has completed her 2026 Mediterranean charter season and is preparing for an Atlantic crossing from Montenegro, with bookings now open for Costa Rica from January 2027. It will be the first time the Oceanco-built sailing yacht has offered charter vacations in Costa Rica.
And rather than heading toward the familiar luxury-yacht playgrounds, BLACK PEARL is taking her guests somewhere considerably more wild.
From the Mediterranean to Costa Rica
BLACK PEARL’s next destination represents more than a change of scenery.
Her Mediterranean season places her among some of the world’s most established charter destinations. Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast offers something very different: rainforest, coral reefs, beaches, marine life and a coastline where the connection between ocean and jungle is far more immediate.
YachtCharterFleet reports that BLACK PEARL will base her first Costa Rican charter program around the Caribbean coast, with Limón, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and Cahuita among the destinations accessible to guests.
For a yacht this large, the setting is almost the perfect contrast.
BLACK PEARL brings the scale of a 105-metre superyacht into a destination defined by nature.
A Sailing Yacht That Still Looks Impossible
Delivered by Dutch shipbuilder Oceanco in 2018, BLACK PEARL has become one of the most recognizable sailing yachts in the world.
Her defining feature is the DynaRig sailing system.
Rather than relying on conventional sails suspended from horizontal yards, BLACK PEARL’s distinctive rig allows her enormous sails to work as part of an integrated system designed around efficient sailing performance.
The result is one of the most dramatic silhouettes ever placed on the water.
And despite the yacht’s enormous dimensions, sailing isn’t simply something that happens in the background.
It is central to the experience.
YachtCharterFleet describes the yacht as one of the world’s largest sailing yachts available for charter, while her extensive deck spaces give guests room to spread out without losing the sensation that they are aboard a genuine sailing vessel.
Seven Cabins, 12 Guests
BLACK PEARL can accommodate up to 12 guests across seven cabins.
The arrangement includes a master suite, two VIP cabins, a double cabin, a twin and two convertible cabins.
But what really changes the experience is the amount of space surrounding those cabins.
A yacht measuring 105 metres doesn’t need to feel crowded.
Instead, BLACK PEARL creates multiple environments for guests to disappear into throughout the day, from open decks and dining areas to the beach club and interior entertainment spaces.
A 27-person crew looks after the yacht and its guests, allowing the experience to remain highly serviced without becoming intrusive.
The Beach Club Is Only the Beginning
The yacht’s beach club is one of its major attractions.
It provides direct access to the water and includes a swimming pool and deck Jacuzzi, creating a natural base for days spent away from the main decks.
And BLACK PEARL has been equipped for guests who would rather be in the water than simply looking at it.

A 14-metre by 9-metre screen is mounted on the mizzen mast, turning the yacht’s enormous exterior into a private cinema beneath the night sky.
The beach club can also become part of the entertainment experience, creating a space that transitions from daytime watersports to evening relaxation.
Then there is the wellness side.
Guests have access to a gym, sauna and hammam, meaning BLACK PEARL can function as a floating retreat even when the yacht is not moving.
Costa Rica’s Caribbean Side
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this new charter program is the decision to explore Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast.
Costa Rica is often associated with its Pacific coastline, but the Caribbean side has its own identity.
Cahuita combines rainforest and marine environments, while Puerto Viejo brings beaches and a distinctly Caribbean atmosphere.
The waters offshore offer coral reefs and marine life, while the interior opens toward one of the country’s defining features: tropical rainforest.
That gives BLACK PEARL’s guests the opportunity to build days around far more than traditional beach stops.
Morning could begin under sail.
The afternoon could move into snorkeling or a SEABOB excursion.
Later, guests could head ashore into the rainforest before returning to a 105-metre sailing yacht for dinner.
Then the sails disappear into the darkness and the outdoor cinema comes alive.
The Yacht Becomes the Destination
That is perhaps what makes BLACK PEARL particularly interesting as a charter yacht.
On many luxury yachts, the vessel is the means of getting somewhere.
With BLACK PEARL, the yacht itself is arguably one of the destinations.
Her enormous size creates an unusual combination: the feeling of being aboard a sailing yacht while having the facilities and scale normally associated with a large motor superyacht.
There is the sailing experience, but also the cinema.
There is the beach club, but also the hammam.
There are watersports, but also multiple spaces
