Mapping the Grid: Ferrari Challenge North America Unveils 2027 Calendar

Fresh off an intense weekend of racing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Ferrari’s Corse Clienti division has officially dropped the map for next year. The newly released Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli North America 2027 calendar highlights six high-octane rounds across the continent’s most revered tarmac before culminating at the global Finali Mondiali.

The headline news for the 34th edition of the single-marque championship is an expansive, border-crossing addition: for the very first time, the series is headed to the fast, undulating curves of Canada’s Mosport Park.

2027 Official Calendar Breakdown

The schedule leans heavily on highly technical, historic circuits that challenge the aerodynamic and mechanical limits of the Ferrari 296 Challenge fleet, maintaining a strategic balance of familiar favorites and new territory.

Strategic Highlights & Track Evolution

The California Double Header

Mirroring the structure of the current campaign, the 2027 season opens up under the desert sun at The Thermal Club. The exclusive, private facility acts as the perfect testing ground for teams to dial in their setups after the winter break. From there, the paddock heads straight to Sonoma Raceway, a venue brought forward significantly earlier in the spring window (April 8–11) compared to its late-summer slots in previous years.

Cross-Border Milestones at Mosport

The inclusion of Mosport Park (now known as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) in late June marks a major geographical evolution for the series. Located just northeast of Toronto, the historic 3.96 km venue opened in 1961 and famously hosted eight iterations of the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix. Known for its daunting elevation changes and high-speed blind crests, Mosport will offer an entirely new mechanical puzzle for drivers across all four classes (Trofeo Pirelli, Trofeo Pirelli Am, Coppa Shell, and Coppa Shell Am).

The Return to the Brickyard and The Glen

After a brief one-year hiatus from the calendar, the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway returns to the fold in mid-July. Racing at the Brickyard remains a massive draw for client-racers, pairing the technical infield road course with the immortal front stretch. The domestic championship then wraps up in late August at Watkins Glen International, the blisteringly fast, old-school circuit nestled in New York’s Finger Lakes region.

Looking Ahead to the Global Stage

By locking down dates early, Ferrari North America gives its dealer-backed teams a massive runway to manage logistics, driver line-ups, and corporate hospitality. Following the conclusion of the domestic six-round fight at Watkins Glen, the entire paddock will pack up to cross the Atlantic for the Finali Mondiali, where the top North American client-drivers will square off directly against their counterparts from the European, British, Japanese, and Australasian regional series.
