“A legacy to consider: Despite how we crossed paths, please don’t get it confused what I show to you is fundamentally the same thing I show to the others. It is simply a matter of respect for those older than I am, not to mention the fact that I have no idea what it is like to be in your shoes, or to live in the shadow of the man you currently stand in.
You have spoken at length about communication, and the team is undeniably in a much better standing than it was the year before. Yet, despite your assertions that the Scuderia is still chasing the championship, my question remains: which championship? 2026? 2027? I think I speak for all of us when I say this isn’t an attempt to question your leadership or undermine your position. It is simply asking: when do you plan to finally outgrow the shadow of 2009?
I look around the paddock and see Christian prominence re-established in the sport. Even George’s name can now be spoken with absolute confidence. But Ferrari is always accompanied by a lingering question: are you the team principal who is genuinely willing to make a definitive statement? The discussion right now is balanced at 50/50, but in a year’s time, the regulatory reality shifts to 60/40. Even Aston Martin, I feel, might be able to give a straight answer.
Regardless of what others might say, my goal here is neither to offend nor to undermine. I am trying to find clarity and understanding. Honestly, I am hoping there is a plan that expands beyond just surviving another grueling season. There is nothing inherently wrong with being successful but what is so wrong with being winners?

At the end of the day, I am here to observe and to record. And I often think about where, exactly, your name will fall.”
