The Danish hypercar renaissance has officially arrived in Manhattan. Zenvo Automotive has brought its most ambitious project to date, the Zenvo Aurora, to the New York International Auto Show, marking a significant milestone for the boutique manufacturer as it expands its global footprint.
For DLifestyleMagazine.com, the Aurora represents the “equilibrium of extremes” a dual-model lineup that splits the difference between brutal track performance and refined transcontinental touring.
1. The Heart of the Beast: The Mjølner V12
At the center of both Aurora models is a masterpiece of internal combustion: the 6.6-liter quad-turbocharged V12. Developed in partnership with MAHLE Powertrain, this engine is a 90-degree “hot-V” design that produces 1,250 hp on its own and screams to a staggering 9,800 rpm. It is currently the most powerful V12 engine ever fitted to a production road car.
2. One Platform, Two Identities
Zenvo has utilized its new ZM1 modular carbon monocoque to create two distinct variants, each limited to just 50 units.
The Aurora Agil (The Track Weapon)
Designed for high-downforce and circuit dominance, the Agil features an aggressive aerodynamic package, including a massive active rear wing and a stripped-out, lightweight cabin.
- Powertrain: RWD with a single integrated electric motor.
- Output: 1,450 hp / 1,400 Nm torque.
- Performance: 0–62 mph in 2.5 seconds; Top speed of 227 mph (365 km/h).
- Weight: A featherweight 2,866 lbs (1,300 kg).
The Aurora Tur (The Grand Tourer)
The Tur (Danish for “Touring”) trades the Agil’s wings for sleek, flowing lines and an all-wheel-drive system designed for high-speed stability.
- Powertrain: AWD with three electric motors (two on the front axle).
- Output: A monstrous 1,850 hp / 1,700 Nm torque.
- Performance: 0–62 mph in 2.3 seconds; Top speed of 280 mph (450 km/h).
- Luxury: A fully trimmed leather interior and advanced noise insulation for long-distance travel.
3. Scandinavian Design Philosophy
Consistent with the Zenvo ethos, the Aurora focuses on “porosity” the idea that air should move through the car rather than just over it. The chassis and suspension components are often left exposed, creating a “skeletal” aesthetic that resembles a high-end timepiece. Inside, the cabin is refreshingly analog, featuring three physical dials rather than a sea of screens, prioritizing the tactile connection between driver and machine.
4. Exclusivity & Pricing
With only 100 units total being produced (50 Agil, 50 Tur), the Aurora is a collector’s dream. Production is set to take place at Zenvo’s headquarters in Præstø, Denmark, with pricing starting at approximately $2.8 million USD.
