The great Italian shipbuilding tradition has officially marked a major milestone. At The Italian Sea Group’s (TISG) shipyard in La Spezia, the first Picchiotti Gentleman 24M was officially christened and delivered to Royal Yacht International, where she will immediately debut on the central charter market.

This delivery is much more than a routine shipyard handover—it represents the modern resurrection of a legendary name. Picchiotti carries over 450 years of maritime history, stretching from historic river craft and military vessels to iconic post-war pleasure cruisers like the Giglio and Mistral series. Acquired by TISG in 2022, the brand’s international relaunch culminates in this 24-meter aluminum masterpiece.
The Aesthetic: Post-War Glamour Meets Modern Geometry
Designed by the renowned Luca Dini Design & Architecture in collaboration with Picchiotti Centro Stile, the Gentleman 24M is an explicit rejection of the modern obsession with bulbous fiberglass hulls and clinical white plastic.
Instead, the yacht leans into a deeply nostalgic, tactile language inspired by the silhouette of 1960s American and Mediterranean cruisers.
- Exterior Lines: A long, low-slung outline characterized by a raised foredeck sunpad and a striking blue hull.
- The Mahogany Influence: Deep, high-gloss solid mahogany details dominate the vessel, framing the thick bulwark rails that wrap around the entire boat, the window mullions, and the stern.
- The Bow & Stern: Polished plating accents the bow, while the transom features beautifully varnished woodwork that sets it apart in any marina.

Onboard Layout: A Floating Residential Villa
Rather than adopting the standard open-plan layouts typical of modern 24-meter yachts, Luca Dini opted for a classical, segmented architectural approach. The interior feels less like a boat and more like a refined private residence, utilizing freestanding furniture from design houses like Minotti and Cassina alongside rigid, elegant boiserie wall moldings.

Seakeeping: A Gentleman Walks, He Never Runs
True to its name, the Gentleman 24M isn’t built to recklessly tear through the water. It embraces a stately, offshore passage-making philosophy.
Powered by twin MAN V8 diesel engines (delivering 1,300 to 1,400 hp each), the semi-displacement aluminum hull maintains a smooth, incredibly stable line at a cruising speed of 16 knots, maxing out at roughly 18–19 knots.
To ensure absolute comfort while anchored in secluded Mediterranean bays, the machinery space is equipped with a heavy-duty Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizer resting low in the hull, flanked by twin 35 kW generators to handle high-capacity air conditioning and onboard hotel loads. With a fuel capacity of 10,000 liters, she boasts a substantial 1,800-nautical-mile range at a economical 9 knots—perfect for effortless island-hopping from the French Riviera to the Greek Cyclades.
The Private Island Appeal: With a shallow draft of just 1.5 meters (4’11”), the Gentleman 24M can slip effortlessly into tiny, shallow coves that remain completely inaccessible to larger superyachts. Designed to be run efficiently by a skeleton crew of 3, it maximizes owner privacy, capturing the “Pinkies Down” ethos of unpretentious, quiet excellence at sea.
Industry Perspectives
“The Picchiotti Gentleman 24M has a rare quality: she feels immediately familiar, elegant, and beautifully Mediterranean. She has substance, warmth, and personality; she belongs to a lineage of yachts conceived for private life at sea.”
— Tommaso Chiabra, Chairman of Royal Yacht International
“Picchiotti carries the spirit of Janus: one gaze turned towards centuries of seafaring knowledge, the other towards those who will define the next codes of yachting. She offers a measured threshold into the Picchiotti world.”
— Gianmaria Costantino, Chief Commercial Officer of The Italian Sea Group
