Shifting Gears: Kemal Curic Named Chief Design Officer at McLaren Automotive

(Woking, UK – 13 April 2026) – McLaren Automotive has officially entered its next aesthetic chapter with the appointment of Kemal Curic as Chief Design Officer. Effective immediately, Curic joins the Executive Leadership Team to spearhead the creative direction and design vision for the brand’s future ultra-high-performance portfolio.

Curic arrives at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) with over two decades of global experience. He joins from Ford Motor Company, where he most recently served as the Global Design Director for Performance Vehicles, overseeing the evolution of some of the industry’s most recognizable high-output icons.

A Holistic Creative Mandate

In his new role, Curic will oversee all design verticals, ensuring a cohesive language across:

  • Exteriors & Interiors: Balancing McLaren’s “form follows function” ethos with a new era of luxury.
  • CMF (Colour, Materials, and Finish): Integrating the brand’s focus on lightweight materials.
  • Digital Design: Evolving the interface and digital experience within the cockpit.

His primary objective is to collaborate with McLaren’s engineering and product strategy teams to maintain the brand’s benchmark status in lightweight, emotionally engaging supercars.
