Designated as “Chassis 0,” this unique, one-of-one build will be offered without reserve by RM Sotheby’s during its flagship sale at Monterey Car Week in August. Estimates already place the hammer price well in excess of $1.1 million, essentially doubling the car’s standard $640,000 base MSRP before regular deliveries even begin. True to its name (Luce, the Italian word for light), the car was customized by Ferrari’s elite Tailor Made department to play intensely with illumination.
- The Exterior: The body is finished in a bespoke Madreperla Semi-Gloss (pearlescent) paint. This unique pigment features iridescent properties that seamlessly shift from subtle green to deep violet depending on the angle and intensity of the ambient light. - The Interior: Inside, the cabin features a minimalist aesthetic co-designed by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson’s creative collective, LoveFrom. Chassis 0 swaps out traditional black trim for an ethereal palette, swathed in Le Mans metallic leather in Perla—a specialized Swiss hide that reflects and diffuses light throughout the cabin. Secondary accents are finished in crisp Grigio Corvara, and a dedicated physical plaque identifies the car as the definitive first production chassis of the Luce program.
Monstrous Performance Parameters
Underneath the architectural, low-drag shell sits a mechanical tour de force. Powered by four independent electric motors (one at each wheel), the Luce puts down a staggering 1,050 horsepower and 990 Nm of torque. It rockets from 0 to 60 mph in a blinding 2.5 seconds, utilizing a structural 122 kWh battery pack. To preserve the visceral driving experience, Ferrari implemented a patented acoustic system that amplifies authentic mechanical vibrations rather than piping artificial engine noise into the cabin.
A Seven-Figure Gift to Education
While Chassis 0 represents an unmatched piece of modern engineering, its true legacy will be felt far beyond the asphalt. Ferrari has announced that 100 percent of the proceeds from the auction will be donated directly to charity.
Every cent raised from the high-profile sale will benefit The Ferrari Foundation, a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity. The funds are earmarked to support global and US-based educational initiatives focused on engineering, technology, and science. Furthermore, a portion of the proceeds will be directed toward the upcoming M-TECH Alfredo Ferrari educational hub. Slated to open in Maranello in 2029, this advanced facility is designed to train and cultivate the next generation of global automotive technology talent.
