CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple today introduced the MacBook Neo, its most affordable laptop ever, designed to bring the core Mac experience to a wider audience. With a starting price of £599, the new device combines a durable aluminum design, a vibrant Liquid Retina display, and the powerful performance of Apple silicon.

The MacBook Neo features a sleek, durable aluminum enclosure and is available in four distinct colours: blush, indigo, silver, and a new citrus finish. At its heart is a stunning 13-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits of brightness and support for 1 billion colours, all treated with an anti-reflective coating.

Powering the device is the new A18 Pro chip, engineered to handle everyday tasks with remarkable speed and efficiency. Apple reports that the A18 Pro is up to 50% faster for tasks like web browsing and can run on-device AI workloads up to three times faster than competing PCs. This performance is delivered silently, thanks to a fanless design. The efficiency of the A18 Pro also provides up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge.

“We’re incredibly excited to introduce MacBook Neo, which delivers the magic of the Mac at a breakthrough price,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “There is simply no other laptop like it.”
For a complete experience, the MacBook Neo includes a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a dual-microphone array with directional beamforming, and dual side-firing speakers that support Spatial Audio. It comes equipped with Apple’s Magic Keyboard for precise typing and a large Multi-Touch trackpad. An optional Touch ID provides secure login and payment authentication.

Connectivity includes two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 6. The MacBook Neo runs on macOS Tahoe, which features deep integration with iPhone and includes Apple Intelligence capabilities.
In line with Apple’s environmental goals, the MacBook Neo is built with 60% recycled content, including 90% recycled aluminum and 100% recycled cobalt in the battery, making it Apple’s lowest-carbon MacBook to date.
Pricing and Availability The MacBook Neo is available for pre-order starting today, March 4, 2026, with availability in stores beginning Wednesday, March 11. The starting price is £599, with a special education price of £499.
