The first sighting of Lürssen’s Project Ziggy occurred just days ago (May 7, 2026) during its technical launch at the Rendsburg facility in Germany. While rumors of a 100-meter+ project have circulated in the industry, the “Ziggy” reveal has drawn significant attention due to its sheer scale and the rare use of a traditional slipway launch for a vessel this size.
Here are the details on the vision and the team behind this massive build:
The Designer
The man behind the aesthetic is Peder Eidsgaard, co-founder of the renowned British studio Harrison Eidsgaard. In a rare move for a project of this magnitude, the studio is responsible for both the exterior styling and the interior design, ensuring a unified design language from the hull to the cabins. Lürssen is handling the naval architecture in-house.

The Philosophy: “A Floating Glass Fortress”
The core philosophy of Project Ziggy is described as “coherent material language” centered on the interplay of glass and steel.
- Architectural Transparency: The design features some of the largest structural glass elements ever fitted on a Lürssen. The goal is to blur the line between the interior and the environment, creating a “futuristic coastal compound” feel rather than a traditional stacked yacht.
- Muscular yet Agile: Despite a massive internal volume of 4,018 GT, the profile is sharp and contemporary, with long horizontal deck lines and angular overhangs that keep the silhouette lean.
- Live-Aboard Utility: The yacht is engineered as a true global residence for a North American owner, designed for extended periods at sea with “seven-star” service capabilities and a fully certified helipad on the foredeck.

Interior & Layout
While the specific material palette (woods, stones, and fabrics) remains highly confidential, the Harrison Eidsgaard interior is being developed as a “lifestyle-focused” layout.
- The Amphitheater Stern: The aft section is the centerpiece a multi-tier beach club with twin symmetrical staircases that frame a substantial waterside platform.
- Wellness Focus: Cascading aft decks are set to house a sequence of pools and wellness spaces, emphasizing an outdoor-indoor resort experience.
Expected Completion
Following this technical launch, Project Ziggy has now moved into the outfitting phase. This is the stage where the machinery, interior fit-out, and final fairing/painting occur. She is officially scheduled for delivery in 2028.
Upon delivery, at 101.4 meters (332.7 feet), she will comfortably sit within the top 30 largest Lürssen yachts ever built.
